Vinteloper Montepulciano 2022

The opening is inky. Blood red.
Its opacity speaks to the intensity within.

Not so much an aromatic lift, "Monty" is a blunt instrument. WHACK. A left jab of ripe red fruit. A right cross of boysenberry, fruitcake spices and mocha.

You anticipate that this is going to be ridiculously excessive, but the palate stays nimble and restrained.

There's still ferocity (and party vibes) in the form of juicy red fruit, but balanced by graphite and gentle wood smoke. Tannins are seasoned and beautifully integrated to build length.
