Shaw & Smith Shiraz 2022

The Shaw + Smith Shiraz offers a bright, medium-bodied expression of cool-climate style, where harmony takes precedence over sheer weight. Lively red and blue fruits are layered with a flicker of white pepper and fine, savoury tannins that shape the mid-palate. It shows both lift and juiciness, with clarity of fruit and a vibrant line that reflects its cool La Niña growing season—supple, fragrant and beautifully poised.

A tricky vintage ultimately delivered excellent results, with ideal ripening conditions in February producing small berries with intense flavour and naturally high acidity.

Sourced from low-yielding sites in Balhannah and the central Adelaide Hills, the wine was matured for ten months in large French oak barrels (20% new) before extended time in bottle, building polish and integration.
