Oscar Hermann 'Yarra Valley' Pinot Noir 2023

Elegant and supple, this Pinot Noir balances richness with freshness. Juicy black cherry and hints of blackcurrant mingle with cranberry, rosewater, and gentle spice notes of ginger and fennel. The palate is plush and smooth, framed by fine, elastic tannins that give shape and subtle grip. Effortlessly drinkable, it carries both charm and a touch of savoury depth.

From Oscar Hermann's Saint Andrews Vineyard in the Upper Yarra, located in the Shire of Nillumbik. Planted in 1995, 14 acres with a mix of varieties on clay & duplex soils with some quartz scattered through parts. Farmed organically, though not certified.

Approximately 2T from 2 acres (wild!). All MV6 here, all destemmed & cold soaked for 4 days. Gently plunged once daily to try to keep as much wholeberry as possible. Pressed off after 3 weeks to a combination of neutral puncheons & barriques where the wine remained on lees for a touch over 12 months. Unfined & unfiltered.
