VINTAGE NOTES
The 2024 growing season began with an early budburst and well-hydrated soils, but persistent south-easterly winds from the Antarctic disrupted flowering, extending it to three weeks and resulting in “hen and chicken” bunches. Despite the challenges, the mild, cool climate favoured the production of high-quality grapes with intense flavours, vibrant colours, and balanced acidity. Although yields were low, the exceptional quality of the 2024 vintage promises to make it one for the ages.

VINEYARD & WINEMAKING NOTES
Nebbiolo is one of the great rosé varietals of the world, and in the right location, it produces fine, aromatic wines with delicate, powdery tannins. We base the blend on a specific Nebbiolo cultivar (1-11) developed for Rosato. Our vine plantings range from 1995-2025 and are cane-pruned, shoot-thinned early, and bunch-thinned twice to ensure intense flavour and even ripening. Wire-lifting and leaf-plucking are performed later in the season to improve air circulation and drying conditions. The fruit is harvested when we sense the balance between aromatics and tannin development from the older blocks is just right. The grapes are crushed, chilled, and gently pressed to maximise flavour and extract fine, powdery tannins before undergoing a long, cool ferment.
