The Barossa Valley is globally renowned for its bold, full-bodied Shiraz, and Kaesler’s The Bogan Shiraz 2017 is a classic expression of that rich tradition. Sourced from two distinctive Shiraz vineyards, this wine showcases a beautiful balance of flavour and structure. The Marananga block delivers intensely concentrated fruit, especially vibrant blue fruit notes from old vines, while the Nuriootpa block brings darker, brooding black fruit characters. Together, they form a powerhouse blend that earned the title of Australia’s Best Shiraz at the Great Australian Shiraz Challenge.
In the glass, it’s deep crimson to near-black with a vivid purple edge. The nose is bold and aromatic, bursting with blackberry, white pepper and a touch of spice, courtesy of well-integrated oak. On the palate, it opens with a rush of sweet black fruits, unfolding into layers of seductive French oak and finishing with silky, satisfying tannins. A wine of generosity and depth, designed to leave a lasting impression.
