"This artwork “Ngaramura “ (meaning see the way) tells the story of our community , honouring the deep connection to the land and its people. It intricately weaves together the symbolism of the five islands, each represented by a meeting place where culture, story telling and community come together. The artwork reflects a dual representation—capturing not only the land’s physical features, like the waterways and mountains, but also the strength of community and shared history.

Flowing through the piece is the spirit of Dharawal Country's waterways, symbolising the vital connection to the land and its people. The mountains stand as silent guardians of the stories passed down through generations, stories of history, resilience, and a powerful vision for the future. These stories honour the elders of the past and the new voices shaping tomorrow, creating a bridge to this year’s NAIDOC theme, The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy.
