Langhe Nebbiolo DOC No Name is crafted by the historic Piedmontese house Borgogno, one of the oldest wineries in the Barolo zone (founded in 1761). In recent years Borgogno committed to organic viticulture and has held organic certification since around 2019.

The wine is made from 100% Nebbiolo grown on calcareous- and clay-marl soils in south, south-east and south-west-facing vineyards within the Barolo area. With an average alcohol of 13.5% by volume, it is best enjoyed at about 18 °C.

In the cellar the hand-harvested Nebbiolo grapes are destemmed and pressed, then undergo spontaneous fermentation in large concrete tanks at temperatures of 22-28 °C for about 15 days. Following a gentle pressing, the wine is aged for just over two years in large Slavonian oak barrels before release.

On the nose it presents a ruby red colour with purple highlights, ethereal violet and rose aromas, fresh red fruit and spice. On the palate it is dry yet velvety, full-bodied and harmonious, exhibiting both austerity and generosity.

Thanks to its solid structure, this Nebbiolo pairs beautifully with the great classics of Piedmontese cuisine – wild game, braised meats – and also complements dishes from other traditions: French Bourguignonne, Norwegian pork-knuckle soup Tradisjonell Etersuppe, Caucasian shashlik, Balkan pork and mushroom stew Selsko Meso, Greek souvlaki, Colombian posta negra or Japanese teppanyaki grilled meat.
